OUR WORK

The project was carried out in two phases with the client’s objective to reduce the buildings carbon footprint. The decarbonisation works were carried out over two stages and phased to ensure that the building did not lose its critical cooling.

The first phase of the project involved the replacement of two chillers that provided just 1 MW of cooling. In preparation Leonari carried out a detailed planning exercise with Westminster Council, Network Rail and Victoria Coach Station as the works involved the shutting down of Buckingham Palace Road for 24 hours to facilitate a 400-tonne crane.

This was a major road closure for London that involved the re-routing of coaches and redirecting of critical traffic and so the margin for error was very small. Leonari meticulously delivered the first phase that has resulted in being put forward and securing the next phase of these works.

The second phase of work are currently being planned and implemented. Our works in this phase include the removal of existing water-cooled chillers and cooling towers and the installation of two new air cooled chillers to provide 900KW of cooling.
